Basketball ohne Brett und Hockey ohne Puck - das ist mir beim Zuschauen der neuseeländischen Sportarten aufgefallen. Am Dienstag waren wir beim Netball Finale in Palmerston North, bei dem unsere Schule gespielt hat. Netball ist hier in Neuseeland eine sehr beliebte Sportart. Dabei spielen zwei Teams gegeneinander und müssen möglichst viele Körbe werfen. Die Körbe haben allerdings kein Brett wie beim Basketball und es darf auch nicht getrippelt werden. Sonst besteht das Spiel aus sehr viel Pfeifen weil ein Fehler gemacht wurde oder etwas wiederholt werden muss. So ganz hab ich das auch noch nicht verstanden. Zudem ist Netball ein sehr schneller Sport, die Pässe müssen sehr schnell sein, damit man die Chance hat einen Punkt zu erziehlen, Das Finale haben wir leider verloren, wenn auch nur knapp, das unsere Schule wirklich gut darin ist.

Beim Hockey geht alles ein bisschen langsamer zu. Die Hockeyspiele waren immer in Palmerston North oder Feilding. Die Mädchen mussten immer im kurzärmeligen Kleid (im Winter) draußen spielen. Und es wurde mit einem Ball gespielt, nicht mit einem Puck, wie beim Eishockey. Das Hockey Team ist gemischt aus Stufe 9,10 &11. Ich war für Hockey zuständig uns durfte so auch immer zu den Spielen mitkommen. Leider haben wir alle verloren, bis auf ein Unentschieden. Trotzdem hat es mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht, auch wenn ich nur die Zeit stoppen musste und in der Pause Gummibärchen verteilen sollte. Nach dem Spiel ging es auch öfters zum McDonald, weil wir das Essen in der Schule verpasst hatten. Jetzt ist allerdings die Hockeysaison zu Ende und ich bin schon gespannt, bei welcher Sportart ich dann jetzt helfen darf.

Basketball without a board and Hockey without a puck - that's what I noticed while watching the new zealand sports. On Tuesday we went to the final Netball game in Palmerston North where our school played. Here Natball is a very popular sport. Two teams pay against each other and have to try to get as many baskets as possible. But the baskets do not have board as in basketball and one is not allowed to trip. Elsewise the rest of the game there is a lot of stopping and repeating because somebody made a mistake. But I do not understand all the rules yet. In adition Netball is a very quick sport, the girls have to pass the ball very quickly to get a chance to get points. Sadly we lost the final but with a small difference of points. our school is very good in it.

At the hockey everything is a little bit slower. The hockey games were in Palmerston North or Feilding, The girls always had to play outside (in winter) in a dress And they didn't play with a puck as it is at ice hockey. They used a ball instead. The hockey team was a mixed team of year 9,10 & 11. I was responsible for the hockey so I was always allowed to go to the games. Sadly we lost all besides one undecided. Nevertheless I had a lot of fun. I only had to stopp the time and give the girls gummy bears in the breake. After the game we often went to McDonald because we missed the dinner at school. But know the hockey season is over and I am excided where to help now.
