Underdressed at the horserace

Was muss man machen, um bei einem Pferderennen für den Fotografen gehalten zu werden? Ganz einfach, man nimmt eine Kamera mit und taucht in Jeans und T-shirt auf. Genau das haben wir letzte Woche Samstag gemacht. Wir sind zu einem Studententag zum Pferderennen gegangen und haben nicht damit gerechnet, dass alle anderen in Anzug oder Kleid beim Rennen sind. Als ich dann auch noch meine Kamera raus geholt habe, hat mich ein Mädchen gefragt, ob ich den der Fotograf bin. Das Rennen dann selber war auch interessant, obwohl ich immernoch nicht weiss ob ich es jetzt gut finden soll oder mir die Pferde leid tun. Zum einen rennen Pferde von Natur aus gerne und zum anderen werden sie beim Pferderennen trotzdem richtig angetrieben und stehen dann unter Adrenalin. Das sieht man auch nach dem Rennen, wenn die Pferde unruhig hin und her laufen. Es kommt auch immer darauf an, wie die Pferde trainiert, aufgewärmt und abgeritten werden. Das sieht man als Zuschauer nicht. Trotzdem war es eine Erfahrung wert und vorallem wissen wir jetzt, dass man sich zum Pferderennen immer schick anzieht.

What do you have to do that the people think you are the photographer at the horse race?  Very easy, one only have to take a camera and go with jeans and t-shirt to a horse race. On Saturday we did exactly that. We went to the student day of the horse race and we didn't expect all the people dressed up in suits and dresses. When I took my camera out of my bag one girl was asking me if I am the photographer. The race was interesting  but I still don't know if I like horse races or if I feel sorry for the horses. On the one side horses like to move and to run but they are pressed to move so fast and are on adrenaline. One can see this after the race when the horses  are walking twitchy around. But all in all it depends on how the horses are warmed up, cooled down and trained. A visitor can't see that. Anyway it was an experience and now we know that one have to dress up for a horse race.
