Color in the school & Trip to Wellington

Was ist an einem Tag, an dem alle Schulstunden kürzer sind, die Mädchen noch alte weiße T-shirts aus dem Schrank kramen und große Kübel mit farbigen Pulver herumstehen? - Es ist Color Run an unserer Schule. Die Mädchen mussten Sponsoren suchen, damit das Ganze auch einen guten Zweck hatte und nicht nur Spaß gemacht hat. Am Montag Mittag ging es dann auf den Sportplatz (für uns besser gesagt in die Turnhalle zum Farben mixen). Dort standen schon die Körbe voller Farbpulver, das nur darauf wartete gemischt zu werden. Plastik Flaschen wurden so zu gefährlichen Farbkanonen und unsere Hände sahen aus wie zu Fingermalzeiten. Es gab insgesamt vier Runden, da jedes Haus einzelnd gerannt ist. Für uns hieß das wir mussten die Flaschen schnell wieder auffüllen. Nach dem Color Run sah die Turnhalle aus, als hätte eine Farbbome eingeschlagen aber wir mussten zum Glück nicht aufräumen und die Schüler hatten sehr viel Spaß.

What kind of event is on a day when the school periods are shortened, the girls looking for old white shirts in the back of their wardrobes and buckets with coloured powder are in the C.C.?  - It's Color Run at our school. First the girls had to find sponsors that it is not only fun but doing something good. On Monday afternoon it was time to go to the sports field (for us to go to the sport hall to mix the colours). There the buckets full of coloured powder was waiting for us. Plastic bottles changed to dangerous colour guns and our hands looked like the time we did finger painting in the kindergarten. All in all there were four rounds for each house one. So we had to fill up the bottles very quick that there is enough for each house. After the run the gym looked like a colour bomb exploded.  But luckily we didn't had to clean it and the girls hat a lot of fun to do the run.

 Am Donnerstag ging es für mich auf den ersten richtigen Schulausflug. Ich durfte mit meiner Social Studies Klasse ins Te Papa und ins Parlament nach Wellington. Das Te Papa ist ein sehr neues Museum über Neuseeland. Dort gab es verschiedene Bereiche wie die Unterwasserwelt, Erdbeben, Vulkane (z.B. Lake Taupo) und einen Maori Bereich. Besonders schön fand ich auch eine Ausstellung über Flüchtlinge, in der deren Geschichten dargestellt wurden. Im Te Papa hatten wir dann eine Führung durch die Sonderausstellung Gallipoli. Dabei ging es um die türkische Halbinsel im erstem Weltkrieg. Das Ganze war richtig gut dargestellt, da man die Geschichten von unterschiedlichen Soldaten erfahren hat.

Danach ging es ins Parlament. Dort hatten wir auch eine Führung und wir sind sogar in das Debating chamber gegangen, in dem gerade eine große Debatte stattfand über die Umwelt und über eine Steuer auf Süßigkeiten. Das war sehr interessant und eine Person wurde verwarnt, dass sie den Raum verlassen soll, wenn er sich in der Debatte nochmal unpassend verhält. Im Parlament waren wir zwei Gruppen und die andere Gruppe hatte Glück und noch zufällig den Prime Minister getroffen.

On Thursday I was allowed to go to my first school trip. I went with my Social Studies class to Te Papa and to the parliament in Wellington. The Te Papa is a very new museum about New Zealand. There are different sections as the underwater world, earthquakes, volcanoes (e.g. Lake Taupo) and a Maori section.  I really liked the exhibition about refugees where they stories were told. In the Te Papa we hat a tour guide for the special exhibition about Gallipoli. It is about the turkey peninsula in first world war. Everything was very good shown and one got to know the stories of  different soidiers. After that we went to the parliament . There we had a guided tour as well and we could see the dabating chamber where a big debate about environement and tax on sweets took place. It was very interesting and one person got a warning if he acts again inappropriately in the dabate he has to leave the room. In the parliament we hat two groups and the other group had the luck to meet the prime minister.
