Mein absoluter Lieblingsort in Neuseeland ist die Hokitika Gorge. Es ist dort so schön. Das Wasser ist unglaublich blau/ türkis. Bevor wir auf die Südinsel gefahren sind habe ich in Instagram ein Bild von der Schlucht gesehen und dachte, dass das Wasser nicht wirklich so türkis sein kann, aber er ist so! Das Wasser ist frisches Wasser, das vom Gletscher kommt. Eigentlich wollten wir dort nur schnell anhalten, aber sind wir schlussendlich über zwei Stunden dort geblieben, haben Fotos gemacht, das Wasser angestarrt und überlegt wie es zu dieser Farbe kommen kann. Die Hokitika Gorge ist nicht so bekannt und wird dadurch nicht von Touristen überrannt, was ich sehr gut fand. Das ist mein Geheimtipp für Neuseeland.
My absolutly favorite place in New Zealand is the Hokitika Gorge. It is absolutly amazing there. The water is so blue/ turquoise that's unbelivable. I saw a picture of it in Instagram and thought that can't be really like this but it is! Just so beautiful. The water is very fresh water from the glacier. We came there because I wanted to have a look at it and then we ended up spending more than two hours there taking pictures and just kind of staring at the water and wonder how it gets to this color. What's really nice is that there are not too many tourists because it is not that kind of famous. That's my insider tip for the South Island.
Am Abend bevor wir zur Hokitika Gorge gefahren sind, haben wir noch bei den Pancake Rocks gehalten. Das sind Steine, die wie ein Berg Pfankuchen aussehen. Wenn Flut ist, spritzt das Wasser zwischen den Steinen hoch.
On the evening before we went to the Hokitika Gorge we stopped at the Pancake Rocks. These are stones which look like stacks of pancakes. When it is high tide the water of the sea is splashing between the rocks.
